1998 VW radio instalation=startin­g trouble

 The other day I decided to finally upgrade my TAPE player in my car to a CD player...well I did everything as planned and when I put my CD player in it wouldn't work. After that I noticed that my little music stopped playing when I turne on the car! Then this morning it had a really hard time starting it but I got it started and drove to work! I went to go to lunch and well it didn't start! I took it in and they said that it might have something to do with putting my CD player in and that can affect the ignition. Any advice would be great!!! Thanks
